STAINLESS STEEL 304 vs 316
The TruGuard Rotating Anti Climb System is available in two different grades of stainless steel.
Grade 304 is the most common grade of stainless steel and satisfies a broad demand for adequate performance at an affordable price. It has good corrosion resistance in a wide variety of environments. It is however not recommended
in areas that are near the coast or areas that are subject to high levels of pollution.
Grade 316 has a much higher level of corrosion resistance and is often referred to as a marine grade. It is more suitable to areas that are exposed to extreme weather and climatic conditions, such as near the coast or in areas subject
to high pollution levels.
Both grades of stainless steel are not maintenance free, but they are maintenance friendly. In order to keep the mirror finish both grades of stainless steel will require a maintenance schedule. It is not essential that this is done but over time
the mirror finish of the stainless steel will dull down and corrosion deposits may accumulate. These deposits will in no way affect the effectiveness, longevity and structural integrity of TruGuard.
